A Hidden Sanctuary in Ubud: My Stay at Blue Karma Dijiwa
Breakfast & Chill on the Hammock
Tucked away in the lush greenery of Ubud, Blue Karma Dijiwa Ubud feels like a quiet secret — the kind of place you almost want to keep to yourself.
From the moment I arrived, there was an immediate shift in pace. The hum of Ubud faded into the background, replaced by the soft rustling of leaves, the distant sound of water, and a sense of calm that settled in effortlessly.
A Space That Invites You to Slow Down
Blue Karma isn’t about grand gestures or over-the-top luxury. Instead, it leans into something more meaningful: intimacy, thoughtful design, and a deep connection to nature.
The property is woven into its surroundings, with narrow pathways leading through tropical gardens, past lily ponds and tucked-away corners that feel almost meditative. Every detail — from the textures of wood and stone to the soft, neutral tones — feels intentional, yet never overwhelming.
It’s the kind of place where you naturally begin to slow down.
Morning in the Villa
The Hammock Jungle View Villa
We stayed in the Hammock Jungle View Villa, and it quickly became the heart of the experience.
Perched above dense jungle greenery, the villa opens up to uninterrupted views of nature — layers of trees stretching out in every direction. But the highlight, without a doubt, was the hammock suspended just above the landscape.
It became my favorite spot throughout the stay.
There’s something about gently swaying above the jungle, with nothing but the sound of nature around you, that makes time feel irrelevant. Mornings started here, slowly easing into the day, and afternoons often ended the same way — no agenda, no rush.
Inside, the villa felt just as serene. Open and airy, with natural light pouring in, it blurred the line between indoors and outdoors. The private pool added a quiet sense of indulgence, but never took away from the simplicity of the space.

Wellness Without Pretension
Spa in front of Rice Field
There’s a subtle wellness philosophy woven throughout the stay. It’s not loud or overly structured, but rather something you feel in the atmosphere — in the calmness of the space, the mindful design, and the way the environment encourages you to disconnect.
Whether it’s a quiet moment by the pool, a slow breakfast, or simply doing nothing at all, the experience feels restorative without trying too hard.
Thoughtful Details, Effortless Hospitality
Infinity Pool
What stood out most was the attention to detail. From the warmth of the staff to the small, thoughtful touches throughout the property, everything felt personal.
Service here isn’t formal or rigid — it’s genuine, relaxed, and intuitive. The kind that makes you feel at ease rather than on display.
More Than Just a Stay
Blue Karma Dijiwa isn’t the kind of place you visit for a packed itinerary. It’s a place you come to pause — to reconnect with yourself, with nature, and with a slower way of living.
In a destination as vibrant as Ubud, that sense of stillness is something truly special.
And long after leaving, it’s that feeling — not just the visuals — that stays with you.
